People make all sorts of statements...and have here in this thread.

If you do not like to hear the truth, Izzy...just ignore it.

And if the truth seems dull...perhaps it is actually a truth that hurts for some reason.

Bottom line: Most atheists seem to do as much "believing" as theists...except in the other direction.
Enough with the rhetoric. You both are wrong. God and His Son Jesus are real.

The idea that God would allow any of his creations to suffer for all eternity is a God dishonoring doctrine. Even Satan will meet his end.
Or didn't your 'spirit' tell you that?

No confirmation bias?
None?

snicker

Is there a GOD, Neo?

(Any answer other than "I do not know...and cannot make a meaningful guess using the evidence available"...is pure fantasy.)

So...once again, Neo...

...is there a GOD?

Oh...snicker back atcha.

Not cruel?????

The GOD says it is willing to "forgive you"...but first you must torture and kill his son...

...and you say your GOD is not cruel?

Ya gotta be kidding.

Nothing foolish about me, Patches.

What do you see wrong with the statement:

Just "belief" in the opposite direction from the "belief" of theists.

@Frank Apisa,
I would suggest your assertion of "do not know" is fertile ground for confirmation bias as it relieves you of possible obligation. Has it taken root in your psyche, Frank?

I would laugh at your suggestion, Neo.

I assert "I do not know"...BECAUSE I honestly do not know.

You almost certainly do not know either...but you are unwilling, for one reason or another, to acknowledge it.

Some people just can't...which is why I said what I did about many theists and atheists.

The fact that I do not know if there are gods or not...has taken root, Neo.

You ought to plant the thought for yourself. It is a crop you need.

@Frank Apisa,
So no answers just a bit of cheap rhetoric, so much for originality.

At this point you usually sashay into a golfing anecdote.

Not sure why you want to start this, Izzy...but I do not put out cheap rhetoric.

You seem to do it often...and are doing it right now.

No golf anecdote right now.

I'll save it for later.

And I almost never sashay.

Do you?

@Patches,
You're about as wrong as it's possible to be. I think the man who said love thy neighbour as thyself, would be quite said to see someone who professed a belief in him taking sadistic pleasure in the thought of those who disagree with the Gospel according to Patches suffering agony for all eternity.

Just saying

Yes you did, repetition and rule of 3, that's the first thing one learns about rhetoric.

I think that's what they call a textbook example.

@Frank Apisa,
I admit to confirmation bias, Frank
I examine my beliefs and works often to be sure I am not being led by desire for license or reward.
And I realize I could be wrong.

I'm a naive realist, Frank. You know that.

No I do not put out cheap rhetoric, Izzy.

But you are in a crabby mood...and will probably insist that I do.

So I will just laugh at you...and enjoy the fact that you allow me to upset you this way.

You do not upset me...you entertain me.

Why don't you answer that question I asked?

Is there a GOD?

@Frank Apisa,
Whenever someone disagrees with you, you always accuse them of being in a bad mood. So much for originality

Now you're in denial, I've shown your use of rhetoric but you'd rather claim black is white.

Are you now saying rule of 3 and repetition aren't rhetorical devices?

Of course, Frank.
And I have valid reasons for belief, all of which you have so far discounted.
