@FBM,
Not believing in Christ leads to the soul perishing for all of eternity. This is a consequence of not having faith.

@Patches,
Sounds like Stockholm syndrome to me. You can't sugar-coat the threat of eternal torture. It's built into the system. Obey or suffer for eternity. Nice god you got there. Not much different from all the other gods.

@Ionus,
You failed to answer my question. Do you think it wise not to believe in God?

@FBM,
Your not very nice speaking lies about Him. Thinking that you are something and He is not. But he still loves you. And all you have to do is turn to Him and ask for forgiveness. It is God's will to deliver people from evil through His Son.

I think that you and I both know that it is foolish not to believe in God.

Do you not believe in hell? Where is the lie? Did you not say that I would go to hell for disbelief? Who allegedly made the system where that would happen?

With God, we have restoration of the soul, family, love and happiness in the afterlife.

@Patches,
You're dodging the question with mindless, non sequitur rhetoric. Do you believe in hell?

It is the way it is. And there is nothing that you can do about it once your body dies.

And exactly how does this hell demonstrate that your god is a loving, compassionate, forgiving one?

@FBM,
Hell was mentioned early on in scripture, in Genesis, as a spiritual death. The spirit is in ruins and would have been better off had it not been born nor created without God.

He is saving us through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. We need God's love.

Please find me the reference to hell in Genesis. I can't find it.

Please don't dodge the question. How can a compassionate, loving and forgiving god also create a system in which the majority of all humans burn in eternal torment for all eternity?

Really?!
Would you be so kind as to provide the citation?

(Edit)
Oh! I see I am not alone in asking

Here hell is mentioned for the first time in the bible and is referred to as death. Meaning a spiritual death.

Genesis 2:17. but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die.

He did not create hell. Hell is primarily the state or condition of being without Him. He has made plans for us not to be in hell. The work has already been done.

Also, there are a few places known as hell in the bible, such as Sheol and Hades.

I don't see hell mentioned there. You're hedging.

So, your god isn't the creator of everything seen and unseen? It doesn't have the power to change the way things are?

Quote:
16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.

You also even contradict yourself. First you say that hell isn't a place, then you say your scripture says it's a place. Which is it? Would your priest agree with what you're saying? Most priests I've known are able to speak and write logically, without self-contradiction.
