I'd say you are not wrong my friend, you spoke well, but keep in mind that there will be those that think they are doing the will of God, but read the words of the scripture again.
Quote: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven"
'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'
23"And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'
Note that these men believed. They performed powerful works in his name. they very likely would have done a yearly confession if it had existed in those days, and yet they were rejected. The key is that they believed they were doing Gods will. How would you suggest the Christian ensures he does not end up as one of these? how do you make sure you are actually doing the will of the god you serve.
On a side note, to whom do you confess?
