Bill Hicks!? I'm a huge Hicks fan. In fact, I started this thread with a question that he posed in one of his bits.

Hmm, come to think of it, that was in one of his bits. But I didn't realise that possibility existed he could of come up with it. Of course, it's been a long time, everything he's said is a cliché by now. Or should be.

Actually, his bit was a little bit different than mine, but yeah, it had something to do with people going out and getting violent. I have it on tape somewhere. The good thing about him not being very well-known is that I can use his stuff and look intelligent, without having to do all that thinking and stuff. Smile

One of his great lines about drugs:

"Now, don't get the wrong idea. I'm not saying all drugs are good. Some of them...are great."

George Bush says we are losing the war on drugs. Do you know what that implies? There's a war going on, and people on drugs are winning it! Ahaha! What does that tell you about drugs? Some smart creative motherf*ckers on that side. They're winning a war and they're f*cked up! A lot of you don't even know you're fighting, do you? You're sitting there, "F*ck, I'm just sitting here watching saturday night live...are we winning? Honey, bring me a beer. We got a war to win!"

They lie about marijuana. They tell you pot-smoking makes you unmotivated. Lie! When you're high, you can do everything you normally do, just as well. You just realize that it's not worth the f*cking effort. There is a difference.

If you don't think drugs have done good things for us then do me a favor. Go home tonight and take all of your records, tapes and all your CD's and burn them. Because, you know all those musicians who made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years? Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreal f*cking high on drugs, man. The Beatles were so f*cking high they let Ringo sing a few songs.

Kickycan, yes the one on the war on drugs is hilarious.

Yes, I saw just a little of Hicks. I like what one reviewer wrote about him: "He's an acquired taste." Twisted Evil

Gus, great minds think alike.

When I go on dates, my big come-on line is "Would you like to come up and watch my tape of Bill Hicks ranting about the hypocrisies of government and religion?" Surprisingly, women don't find that to be an enticing offer. Maybe if I learn to say it in Italian... Idea

Extra medium, yes he is an acquired taste. But he was a badass, and he was so damn funny.

Did you know there's an album by the rock band Tool all about Bill Hicks? It's called 'AEnima,' I think, or maybe 'AEnema.' It's really good, you know, if you don't mind a bit of prog-metal pretentiousness. The title track is all about Los Angeles flooding.

Yeah, I have that CD. Radiohead also dedicated an album to him. I can't remember which one though.

I first heared about him while I was reading a book with interpretations of Tool songs(3/5albums explained) and I read there that the introduction of a song is actually Bill Hicks(I was like, who?) during his routine act.

as someone who has used an abundance of both, I would have to say pot is WAY easier on the body and mind as alcohol. and booze is several times more addictive.
