Who makes the roster of your basketball dream team?

Mine is not the best in every position but a team I think owuld play well together with a style I'd like to see.

C Russell
PF Rodman
SF Pippen
SG Jordan
PG Payton

I'll add more later and we can fight about it.

Agreed on Jordan-Rodman-Pippen.

Otherwise, maybe Isaiah Thomas or Magic Johnson for point guard, Hakeem Olajuwon for center.

How about Kareem at center?

I like Magic for Point Guard. Eek, what position did Bird play? Small Forward? I pick Kareem for Center. Otherwise I'm in agreement with Craven, assuming I have Bird in the right spot.

Ok, Magic can play but he has to wear a mask. His sugar eating grin drives me nuts.

I happen to love Hakeem, but I wanted a non scoring center so Jordan can have the ball the whole time.

Let's make a few teams.

My other teams:

This one I call big or tall

Shaq
Mailman
Garnett
Penny
Magic

Yeah, Bird is kind of, let's just say, appearance-challenged.

And what about 6th men? If you allow a bench player, I'm thinking someone like Kobe.

I think this team should include at least one player from the old days, i.e., my youth. Therefore I nominate The Big O, Oscar Robertson.

Nah, Kobe would suck as a bench warmer. He would pout and have fits and hog the ball when he finally got it.

How 'bout, hmm, John Paxson? Someone who can come out and nail threes and electrify everyone.

Is Kerr still the # 1 in 3 point percentage of all time?

I second the O.

Toss in Elgin Baylor as well.

Rodman as sixth man. Back in his sixth man days-he tore the court up when he got onto it. Kobe hasn't proved himself yet. Shaq is not a team man unless the universe revolves around him, but he will be the most dominant player ever to have played basketball-in the end!

Bob Cousy as a court general! I would pick Akeem, he would share the ball, he was a great passer and number 1 defender. He would setup Jourdan all day long.

By the way, who would play this them? They would be like the globe trotters, never lose a game! Guess the opposing team would have to be the Generals. By the way, Meadow Lark Lemon was a great ball handler. Some say he might have been the best ever if he was in the pros.

BillW, I agree about Rodman. He was one of the best ever at the energizing factor. Craven, I think you're right about Kerr vs. Paxson. I always liked Kerr 'cause he stood up to Jordan.

I started checking on that "O" question as soon as I posted. I am pretty sure he was an SF also!

I agree on center -

Kareem for center. Does he not hold the all-time scoring record? And I think Elvin Hayes deserves some recognition, too...
