Hello everybody!
I just became a member of this community because I happened to read some of the topic in this category. I find it very interesting and I thought I should contribute to. So, if anybody wants help with their Greek, I would be glad to try and help. By the way, English is not my native language, so plz overlook my mistakes.
Happy to be among you all,
Maria

Hi Maria, and welcome to A2K!

My wife and I were in Greece a few years ago and enjoyed ourselves very much. A beautiful land.

Could you kindly post these English phrases in your native language, along with their phonetic pronunciation? It would be very helpful; thank you:

Hello! (formal)

Hi! (informal)

How are you? (formal and informal)

My name is ______. What is your name?

I am pleased to meet you.

Thank you. Thank you very much.

Where is the restaurant?

Where is the market?

Where is the bathroom?

May I have water, please?

First of all, given that our alphabet is special, i can only inform you about the pronunciation of the phrases. In case you want information about spelling you will have to download greek fonts.

We also have a phrase meaning "i am ---------" which is "Ime o -------" for guys and "Ime i --------" for girls. Depending on the style you use, this phrase can be either formal or informal.
