Hi Nipper,

I posed your question to a Latin-scholar friend of mine, who responded:

"In scientia duco; in nescitia sequor."

If what you mean can be paraphrased as 'When I am knowledgeable, I lead; when I am ignorant, I follow,' however, this might be better:

"Sciens duco; nesciens sequor."
