Are you trying to challenge REXRED for the dunce cap?

Christians are both D's and R's, in fact I dont have any information that they even tend to vote R, and in my 53 years experience with Christians I can tell you that they tend to hate the sin and love the sinner.

First, how anyone in the UK can say anything about Islam is laughable. Half your country follows Sharia law.

And Muslims are conquering Europe with help from fools like you.

@woiyo,
So people that put faith before the Constitution shouldn't hold office? Has he bothered to look at his fellow candidates that claim to be Christian?

Surely that is a rhetorical question. God help us if we get to be so stupid that we dont know the answer to that. It sure has never happened to this point.

@hawkeye10,
Have YOU bothered to check out the positions of the GOP candidates and how they use faith to support them when they are unconstitutional.

Do you have any supreme court cases on the matter?

Quote:
The Supreme Court ruled yesterday that federal taxpayers cannot challenge the constitutionality of White House efforts to help religious groups obtain government funding for their social programs, handing a victory to President Bush's faith-based initiatives program.

In a 5 to 4 decision, the court blocked a lawsuit by a Wisconsin-based group of atheists and agnostics against the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. The court ruled that the suit, by the Freedom From Religion Foundation and three of its taxpaying members, could not go forward because ordinary taxpayers lack legal standing to challenge executive branch expenditures. The ruling reversed a January 2006 decision in favor of the foundation by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

Huckabee as well as others have said they will ignore the Supreme Court.

@ossobuco,
I don't think you're going to change any minds, people like CJ love their paranoid version of reality too much. They enjoy being scared shitless, it's like a drug.

that is not saying that faith can trump the Constitution. As Huckabee points out the three branches of government are intended to be equal, the supreme court is not the boss. Also the military is sworn to defend the constitution, which may or may not mean that they force the country to follow the Supreme Court dictates, that would depend upon the circumstances.

It is alarming the number of people who have it in their heads that the Supreme Court is the superior power under the constitution. I blame the education system.

@hawkeye10,
What do you say we both start two new threads:
Mine will be how glbt community is discriminated against by various churches and yours will about how accepting of gblt various churches are.

Wanna bet who finds the most examples?

I may wear a dunce cap, but you use yours to spin on.

@hawkeye10,
I think you should blame yourself for the lack of education.

The Supreme Court is not the boss. The people have the ability to amend the Constitution if they don't like how the court rules. When it comes to interpreting the Constitution as it is, the Supreme Court has the final say. To ignore their rulings is to deny the Constitution.

If you are advocating that politicians can ignore the Supreme Court without consequences then we are talking about something else entirely. While the politicians may not be arrested if they order law enforcement to allow them to do it and law enforcement goes along. But ultimately it undermines the government because it means we are no longer a Constitutional Republic and the Constitution is worthless. That would lead to more destruction of this country than following Supreme Court rulings you may personally disagree with.
