@TheCobbler,
Affordable for who? Most of my costs have increased since the ACA went into effect. Now that insurance companies have to provide certain services that were optional by plan, I have seen increases in other area's. I used to pay about $40 for the blood tests for my physical, the last 2 years have seen a big price increase. The cost for my blood work on my last physical was over $150. That is over 3 times the cost for the same exact blood work, costs haven't gone down.

@bobsal u1553115,
But wait, Social security is an earned benefit is it not? His father died and he was able to use his fathers benefits. So how does welfare benefits which are not earned, compare to SS which is earned?

@Baldimo,
Ronald Reagan's father did not die and leave him over a trillion dollars in social security. There are life long paid in benefits, inherited benefits and then there are stolen benefits.

@TheCobbler,
I live in CO, and we have an exchange. The issue isn't prices under the ACA care, it is the rest of us who already had insurance. What does living in "red" state have to do with the cost of my medical coverage? The ACA promised cheaper prices and they haven't materalized. The only claim to fame the ACA has is giving people insurance, it did nothing else it promised.

How do you explain Oregon dropping their state exchange in favor of the federal exchange? Red state my ass...

@Baldimo,
Ahh well that explains it, Colorado

Whether You Smoke
The Affordable Care Act allows insurance companies to charge people who use tobacco up to 50% more in monthly premiums than those who do not. (The average additional cost is about 20%.) In addition, subsidies can’t be used to cover any portion of the tobacco surcharge added to the monthly premium.

Incompetence. The state spent years and a ton of money trying to make an exchange, and utterly failed to get it done. This is another bullet point in the "liberals dont care about good government" argument.

@Baldimo,
The States With The Highest Uninsurance Rates Are All Led By Republicans
http://thinkprogress.org/health/2014/08/06/3468071/obamacare-red-blue-divide/

It is called a "pool" for a reason, when everyone jumps in the rates go down significantly across the board.

So if your rates are high, blame republican governors!

Study Shows the Madness of States Refusing to Expand Medicaid
http://billmoyers.com/2014/08/14/study-shows-the-madness-of-states-refusing-to-expand-medicaid/

This is sooo terrible those red states losing out on all that free federal money! (Errm, cynical)

Red States Are Reinventing Medicaid to Make It More Expensive and Bureaucratic
http://www.newrepublic.com/article/120781/republican-governors-accept-medicaid-expansion-make-it-costlier

Consider your premiums are so high because red states are taking the lion's share of the "subsidies" because their governors are more interested in giving tax breaks to the rich than providing jobs for the middle class so they are above the subsidy poverty line...

So it seem seems your conservative politics are wholly behind the reason why your premiums are so high. I personally think "your" premiums should be higher considering you support the very people who are shafting Obama Care. And who should pay the bill for republicans trying to defeat Obama care 50 times? Democrats?
