I was quite surprised by the conciliatory tone adopted by Ted Cruz. I wouldn't go as far as calling it statesmanlike, but it was a far cry from the scorn and vitriol that gushes from Trump.

I think Cruz wants another bash at president, maybe even as soon as 2020, but I think 2024 is more likely.

Trump Says He Won’t Turn Over His Tax Returns. It’s Not Up To Him Anymore.
Congress has the authority to get anyone’s returns from the IRS.

Congress doesn't have the authority to riffle through people's private information. I realize that Democrats like to violate people's rights, but the courts will only allow the Democrats to have data that they have a good reason for accessing.

And even then, any Democrat who leaks private information can expect to see the inside of a prison cell.

Part of his tax returns were already leaked a year ago and MSNBC ran with them for days. I wonder if anyone got in trouble for that?
