@coldjoint,
I'm Japanese American, and if I'm in the "protected class," something has gone haywire because during WWII, we were put into concentration camps. German Americans and Italian Americans didn't suffer the same fate. Do you understand the meaning of the word "bigotry?"
As a child, a white man told me to "go back to your own country." I'm third generation American. Where was I supposed to go?
I'm well aware of the discrimination against blacks in this country. They have suffered discrimination by whites much longer than any minority. Women are not treated equally. Yes, I'm well aware of discrimination by the majority whites in this country.
However, I'm still glad that our grandfather came to the United States of America, because it provided us with equal opportunity. My brothers and I all served in the US military. My brother also served two terms in the California State Legislature, and also as Mayor of his town. Our older brother is an Attorney and worked for the State of California. I've done fairly well, and have traveled the world having visited some 88 countries in 108 trips. I have friends in Russia, England, France, Singapore, Mexico, and Cuba. I have met many interesting people during my travels, and wouldn't trade that for anything else. I'm a proud American most of the time. Trump has succeeded in bringing shame to this country.
BTW, the 442nd Infantry made up of Japanese Americans were the most decorated unit in our country's history. They fought in Italy, France and Germany during WWII. My cousin in Hawaii was in that unit.
