I suspect the last resort of the left, as always, will be violence.

No, probably not the sort of armed revolution so feared by a certain brand of conservative worry wart. This will be more like the riotous days of the sixties. The truth is that the left is not really prepared for, nor intellectually or emotionally suited to wage cold-blooded armed revolution.

Well, lefties, that is exactly how you get more Trump. Back in the day, the dogma of the New Left was classic commie – incite the state to impose tyranny in order to short-circuit lefty protests, thus inducing the “normals” to “join the revolution.”

We learned that it didn’t work that way back then, not in America, at least.

Joe Manchin is an anomaly in the U.S. Senate. The West Virginia politician is known for being a centrist Democrat in a state President Donald Trump won by a landslide, and has done what few others in his party have: teamed up with Trump on multiple occasions.

Now, according to a new profile, Manchin’s position on the president might evolve into complete endorsement down the line.

“I’m open to supporting the person who I think is best for my country and my state,” Manchin said to POLITICO when asked about his 2020 endorsement. “If his policies are best, I’ll be right there.”
