But the plans that were no longer able to be offered were plans where the cost went way way up or were changed to be substantially worse for the consumer AFTER the ACA was passed. In other words, the plans these people were cancelled from were no longer the same plan that they were satisfied with the previous year. Nor where they approximately the same plan with a little bit higher premium. Allowances were made for the insurance company to make some reasonable changes in order to be grandfathered in under the law, and the grandfathered plans did not even have to meet all the minimum requirements that all the new ACA plans had to meet.

That's not being thrown off your plan-that's your plan changing so much for the worse that it's no longer the same plan by any reasonable measure.

Being forced to switch to a different insurance plan sure felt like being thrown off my plan to me.

There were no changes to my plan. It simply ended when Obamacare went into effect, and I had to switch to a plan from the exchanges that was not nearly as good (although I feel that the end to rescissions was worth it).

The prices for my plan probably would have risen. I had better coverage than even the platinum plans offer on the Obamacare exchanges. But instead of being given a choice whether to keep my old plan at higher prices, the plan was simply ended.

It doesn't matter how many people support violating the Second Amendment.

The NRA isn't going to let you do it.

@oralloy,
Baldimo may be consistently wrong, but you take that to another level entirely. You're completely delusional with no concept of what reality even is.

Nobody takes you seriously, your fellow fascists may like the support of a rabid attack dog but even they must realise you're away with the fairies.

Now you can spout your nonsensical mantras about never having been proven wrong and being super intelligent both of which confirm what I've just said.

You're proven wrong all the time, just because you can't understand that doesn't mean you're any less wrong.

Now I won't be wasting any more time on you.

Americans Strongly Support Citizenship Status on Census

I think reminding voters that Democrats think illegals should be counted because they increase the population(especially in urban areas) and therefore more Congressional districts they can control.

Once again citizens are at the back of the bus for Democrats.

I can answer.

First, most accusations that the Republicans are trying to harm Social Security and Medicare are untrue to begin with.

But regardless of Social Security and Medicare, I normally vote for people who are going to prevent liberals from violating my Second Amendment rights. This is usually the GOP.

@Blickers,
Quote:
The exact reverse is true-the seniors don't care enough about Social Security and Medicare. If they did, they would never vote Republican. Republicans have come out with one proposal to do away with or severely curtail those programs after another.

You are proving my point. The only worth old people hold to the DNC, is for their votes on SS and Medicaid. None of their other opinions are valued or talked about by the DNC, and when those old people do talk, they are shouted down as being racists or some other negative term. If old people would only shut up and vote for their SS and Medicaid, the world would be a better place.

Quote:
Bush 43 even tried repeatedly to allow young people to divert a significant part of their Social Security payment to a personal account.

Yes, it was young people like me, at the time I would have been in my late 20's, who wanted a chance to have a better retirement than SS. Nothing would have changed for those people who were of a certain age when the change would have gone into effect. I'm going to be 45 this year and we already know the dire situation that SS is going to be in in the next 15 to 20 years, so far we are on track with the predictions from the early 2000's.

Quote:
Since older people paid for the previous generation when they were young, now that they are older Bush 43 wanted to allow the young generation to gradually stop paying for them. It would bankrupt the system.

The whole point of SS was to pay into a system that would provide for you later in life. This focus and change to paying for current retirees with current payments became a thing when they realized SS was never going to be able to provide for future people. We are still using a WWII era system for retirement planning. This is why I call out your side as the Conservatives in this debate, it's your refusal to change or even modify an old system.

Quote:
But the very fact that a majority of Republican supported the Republican President's plan to kill Social Security and Medicare ought to be enough to prevent any senior from voting Republican again-unless they are so wealthy that Social Security and Medicare payments are not a significant addition to their income or payment for their medical bills.

Thank you for again proving my point. Old people need to shut up and just vote for their stuff, we don't care about the rest of your ideals as long as you vote for SS and Medicaid. A 70 year old system is going to work perfect in this day and age of the internet not to mention in another 30 years... I can't wait to eat cat food, I'll remember this conversation when I open my first can and know it's this wonderful almost 100 year old system I have to thank.

Nope. As usual I am completely right.

Democratic accusations about attempts to harm Social Security and Medicare are usually fabrications.

What, then, to make of the fact that Rasmussen Reports, which conducts the only daily presidential approval poll of likely voters, finds Trump at 50% approval and 49% disapproval? Those are better numbers than Barack Obama had in the same survey at the same point in his administration, and the press boosted Obama almost as relentlessly as it denigrates Trump.
