No, it's because you made an assertion which you had no evidence for and cannot back up.

Three pages ago I posted this...

Yes I do have the evidence to back it up, verified and corroborated by roughly 50 press agencies...

Here is your evidence:
Trump explains why the First Amendment has ‘too much protection’ for free speech
“Our press is allowed to say whatever they want.”

I will let Trump explain his war on the 1st amendment.

There was a Terminator TV series that lasted for a couple years on Fox some years back. In some episodes they showed a terminator, off on some nefarious mission for Skynet of course, but not immediately hostile to the main characters. Sometimes when he was confronted with a variant of "you'll never succeed with that" he would simply respond with a calm "we'll see".

I honestly expect that in the 2020 election, 2024 election, 2028 election, and 2032 election, each time liberals here will be telling me that this time my prediction will be wrong.

I plan on responding each time with "we'll see".

I don't claim to be infallible of course. I've made a prediction before that came out wrong because I missed one small detail in the pattern that I based my prediction on. On the other hand, the pattern turned out largely as I predicted despite my missing that one detail, so I still found the prediction to have an interesting outcome despite ultimately getting it wrong. But my point is, of course I am capable of being wrong.

But my prediction is built on sound logic. And the odds are better than you think that my prediction will turn out exactly correct.

In any case.... We'll see.

I looked at your link and watched the video. Trump said that he believes a person should have recourse in court when a press entity knowingly makes false, defamatory statements about him. That's a war on the First Amendment?

@Brandon9000,
"War on the First Amendment" might be a little over the top, but it's no secret that Trump is no friend of the free press.

Retweeted Brian Krassenstein🐬 (@krassenstein):

As Trump continues to attack his own FBI. Ask yourself 2 questions:

Why would an innocent man attack the credibility of the agency that is about to help prove his innocence?

Why would a guilty man attack the credibility of the agency that is about to help prove his guilt???

@snood,
Halting a Time Warner and Comcast merger because of CNN is, ummm, "a little over the top" one might say.

...and "War On The First Amendment" is exactly the terminology used by nearly every news agency.

Barring certain mainstream press from the White House and daily briefings. His smear campaign to label long time legitimate news sources as "fake news"...

If this isn't a war on the first amendment what might it be called.

A prequil to war? That is just as troubling.

Where is Frank Luntz when you need him? lol

Threatening the very existence of a mainstream news agency is "war"...

Roy Moore said "America was great during the time of slavery."

I have to partly agree, but it is was actually just "after" slavery, when 260,000 racist Confederate solders lay dead on the battlefield...

That was America's finest hour.

@snood,

I looked at the first link. It reports that the president asked Congress to investigate felonious leaking of classified information. How is that in any sort of conflict with the First Amendment?

@Brandon9000,
I think you can see how Trump is at odds with the press in a way no other president has been. He's characterized the free press as the "enemy of the people". No other president called for congress to investigate news networks. You're being intentionally obtuse if you can't acknowledge the singular animus Trump has expressed over and over toward the press. Or you're just ******* stupid. Either way, with this I leave you to it.

I am not completely sure. I believe the answer to your question is yes, that is a war on the first amendment.

Putting that aside for now. Trump doesn't care anything about the truth. Trump just don't want critical things being said about him. Trump has very thin skin when it comes to criticism. His thin skin to criticism makes him weak. By the way, the critical things the news are saying about Trump are mostly always true. He doesn't like hearing the truth, because it makes him look bad. Any truth that makes him look bad, he calls fake news.
