Nothing is wrong here. It is perfectly ok for an opposing party to try to win the next election. For the Democrats to act like this was some sort of ghastly plot is just silly.
And Obama had plenty of moderate Republicans who wanted to work with him. Obama just caved in to Leftist extremists who demanded that he take a hard line instead of making deals with moderate Republicans.
