Scandal-ridden Bentley refuses to disclose records of who he’s with during work hours (Yellowhammer)

written by Jordan LaPorta
on July 28, 2016 at 1:23 pm CDT

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Governor Robert Bentley’s office is refusing to release many of his calendar records, which include his scheduled appointments, transportation arrangements and information on the people with whom he spends his working hours.

According to the Bentley administration, complying with such an open records request made by Alabama sports website and liberal political blog al.com would be “detrimental to the best interests of the public.”

The records from before January 1, 2016 would provide more insight into the relationship between Gov. Bentley and his former senior advisor Rebekah Mason. Earlier this year, Yellowhammer News released audio recordings exposing an illicit affair between the two.

“In response to your request for the remaining calendars entries, we are unable to provide those to you at this time because these involve recorded information received by a public officer in confidence, sensitive personnel records, pending criminal investigations, and records the disclosure of which would be detrimental to the best interests of the public are some of the areas which may not be subject to public disclosure,” Bentley spokeswoman Yasamie August told al.com in an email. The specific reason for denying the request was not provided.

So ... he got caught having an affair with one of his advisors (a married woman), may have misused state funds, and is facing impeachment ... but it's none of the voters'/taxpayers' business who he talks to, or when, while he collects a taxpayer-funded salary for a position given him by voters. Ooooooooookay.

@cicerone imposter,
True, but he will push as far and as hard as he can up to war as can be seen in Ukraine and Crimea. Europe is weak militarily. If Trump is elected we can bet we will be neutralized in Europe.

Trump caught LYING shamelessly about his links to Putin
The Today Show just caught Trump in a huge lie about his "bromance" with Putin.

@TheCobbler,
You could really leave "shamelessly" out of that sentence. Everything the man does is without shame. Or guilt. The GOP beat the odds with this guy. They got a twofer - a galactically narcissistic man who's also a sociopath.

@RABEL222,
Putin has no power at all.

If Putin attacks any of his neighbors there is North Korea who would love to step into the vacuum and attack Russia for their resources.

Could Putin's economy sustain a war on several fronts with all that land area to defend? LOL!

Then there are the Arab Islamists to the south of Putin that would love to attack his infidel flank while he is out trying to subdue other lands.

China also would not mind a bit of Putin's pie.

There's the old saying, "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush",
Putin might give that some thought.

@TheCobbler,
Putin already knows there is no way for Russia to protect their borders from incoming bombers. Destroying Moscow and several other cities will destroy all of Russia.
That's been the strategy when I was in the Strategic Air Command, USAF, back in the late fifties. That strategy has not changed.

No. North Korea could not take on Russia. It couldn't. North Korea's policy is one of getting the first strike in. Once they launch their missiles they'll be obliterated. If that happens Kim Jong Un will have fled somewhere else.

No way for Russia to protect against stealth bombers (or ICBM/SLBM warheads). But don't expect any B-52s to just waltz in anymore.

Russia has a deterrent consisting of more than a thousand deployed ICBM warheads. I doubt that many will want to push them too far even with their dilapidated conventional forces.

I wouldn't worry much about Russia though. Moving NATO forces east will keep them from making mischief in NATO countries. No need for a shooting war with them.

What I'm really worried about is war with China, especially once Trump becomes president. Once there is direct war between the US and China, someone will lose, and that loser will face strong pressure to use nuclear weapons. Once nuclear weapons are used, escalation to all-out nuclear war will soon follow.

The good news is, China has only 64 warheads that can reach the US. The bad news is, 10 of those warheads have a 5 megaton yield.

That's gonna leave a mark.

@bobsal u1553115,
That's it, what country will be daft enough to give refuge to someone who's just launched a nuclear strike? The NK leadership knows NK would not survive a strike which is why their threat is based on 1st strike then let the general population take the hit.

If it happens it will be surreptitious, with some wealthy oligarch like Trump taking a huge amount of money to keep them safe somewhere.

Father Of War Hero Near Tears As He Pleads With Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell To ‘Repudiate’ Trump
Source: Huffington Post

Khizr Khan, who denounced Trump at the Democratic Convention, said “an ethical, moral stand has to be taken, regardless of the political costs.”

Khan, the father of Muslim-American war hero Army Capt. Humayun S.M. Khan, who was killed in action in Iraq, implored Republican leaders of the Senate and House to disown their presidential nominee, Donald Trump, once and for all.

Appearing in his living room with his wife on MSNBC, Khan stared unwaveringly into the camera with watery eyes and asked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.): “Isn’t this time to repudiate Trump?”

“If your candidate wins and he governs the way he has campaigned, my country, this country, will have constitutional crises never before in the history of this country, and my conscience compels me under these very difficult circumstances,” Khan said. “But there is so much at stake, and I appeal to both of these leaders, this is the time. There comes a time in the history of a nation where an ethical, moral stand has to be taken regardless of the political costs. The only reason they’re not repudiating his behavior, his threat to our democracy, our decency, our foundation, is just because of political consequences.”

Mr. Kahn is as brave as his deceased son. A man obviously of great moral character,
and his story is our story, because he could be the parents or grandparents or ancestors
of any one of us, who understands America's unique moral role in the world.

It really is time for Trump to surrender. Every patriotic American must do all they can
to make sure our country does not fall into the sea of darkness.

@bobsal u1553115,
I wouldn't even attempt to make sense of the voters who supports Trump. Trump thinks people who are poor do not need higher wages. Those same people support Trump by 50%.
Quote:
. He won a whopping 50 percent of voters making less than $50,000, 18 percentage points ahead of his support with those who earned more than that amount.

We sure have a lot of ignorant, masochistic, people in this country.

@cicerone imposter,
I think some of it can be attributed to the mentality that tells them they can somehow share in the wealth if they attach themselves to the wealthy. It's the same kind of sick thinking that made dirt poor white people support the slaveowner class. Even though they would never share their wealth, they wanted to somehow be associated.
