@coldjoint,
We;ve been doing absentee ballots since the civil war. ramirez like usual has no idea what he's drawing about, or how elections are actually run. He's just mindlessly parroting the gop line, which they have publicly stupidly said, that if more people voted, the republicans would never win another election. That's why they're doing every thing theyt can do, nok matter how slimy, to suppress voter participation.

The ‘Boogaloo Bois’ Are Bringing Their AR-15s and Civil War Ideology to the Lockdown Protests
The far-right “boogaloo” meme, which refers to an impending civil war or violent anti-government rebellion, is now spilling out into the real world.

https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/y3zmj5/the-boogaloo-bois-are-bringing-their-ar-15s-and-civil-war-ideology-to-the-lockdown-protests

The younger, shitposting face of the armed far-right — often called “boogaloo bois” — have been showing up at anti-lockdown protests across the U.S., toting their AR-style rifles and wearing their trademark Hawaiian shirts and leis.

It’s a troubling sign that the far-right “boogaloo” meme, used to refer to or even incite an impending civil war or violent anti-government rebellion, is now spilling out into the real world.

On Monday, a group of heavily armed men — including at least one with links to the boogaloo movement — were arrested following a tense standoff with SWAT outside Big Daddy Zane’s Bar in West Odessa, Texas. The men claimed they were protecting the bar, whose owner was defying Texas’ lockdown orders by remaining open. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott loosened some restrictions on businesses in recent weeks, but bars remain shuttered.

A total of eight people were arrested: seven armed vigilantes and the bar owner. A Facebook page for Wyatt Winn, one of the arrestees, shows that he follows about two-dozen pages dedicated to boogaloo. Recently uploaded photos show Winn posing with a group of armed men in Hawaiian shirts. Other memes he shared reference Duncan Lemp, a 21-year-old student with anti-government views who has been martyrized by the armed far-right after he was killed by cops in Maryland during a nighttime no-knock raid in March. Police said they were executing a high-risk search warrant following a tip that Lemp was in illegal possession of firearms.

Lemp’s death, and the political tension surrounding coronavirus-related lockdown orders, have galvanized the boogaloo movement, whose adherents have used the two events to drum up anti-government sentiment among conservatives.

A report by the Tech Transparency Project last month identified 125 Facebook groups that were dedicated to “boogaloo,” and more than 60% of those had been created between February and April. On those pages, shitposting, racism and anti-government memes intermingle. That’s typical for boogaloo pages, according to a February report by the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI), which tracks how hate moves from the internet into the real world.

“While many still use the boogaloo meme jokingly, an increasing number of people employ the phrase to incite an apocalyptic confrontation with law enforcement and government officials or to provoke ethnic warfare,” NCRI wrote.

The incident in West Odessa, Texas, was just the latest example of extremists, including boogaloo bois, taking up arms in response to lockdown orders.

On Thursday, Colorado police said they were investigating threats of civil war made against health centers. "We the people’ are DONE with this f***ing bulls**,” one person wrote in an email, according to local news outlets, “and you're about to start a hot-shooting no bulls*** civil war."

And last Friday, federal agents arrested Bradley Bunn, a 53-year-old man in Loveland, Colorado, for possession of pipe bombs, which he said he’d planned to use against law enforcement if they raided his property in the middle of the night (a possible reference to Lemp). Local news outlets identified him as a member of a militia, and reported that he’d planned to attend an armed lockdown protest.

Following Bunn’s arrest, according to the Site Intelligence Group, which tracks extremist activity, misinformation about an impending FBI raid on armed protesters began circulating on 4chan and far-right Telegram channels — with some users encouraging armed resistance.

Also last week, heavily armed men with long guns stormed Michigan’s capitol, joining hundreds of conservative protesters who were demanding an end to stay-at-home orders. Some state lawmakers had shown up to work that day with bulletproof vests on in anticipation of violence.

On May 1, armed militia men also showed up to protest lockdown orders in Richmond, Virginia. The same day, armed men promoting boogaloo protested in Raleigh, North Carolina. They had responded to a “call to arms” issued by a Facebook group called “Blue Igloo” (a homophone for boogaloo). “They’re called guns,” one person wrote in response to the event page, the Triad-City-Beat reported. “Show up ready to use them. I’m tired of this ****. I’m not going to any more protests unless serious men come and are ready to defend our lives and liberties.”

And earlier in April, police in Texas arrested Aaron Swenson, a self-proclaimed “boogaloo boi” who was Facebook live-streaming his search for a police officer to “ambush and execute.” He, too, was upset about Duncan Lemp’s death.

Much, much more at link.

The Boogaloos are mobilizing to the front lines of the nationwide protest movement. They are coming armed with mainly assault rifles and traveling where the protests are.

PROTESTERS AROUND THE U.S. PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO ON THE “BOOGALOO BOYS”!!!!! #BlackLivesMattter #BLACK_LIVES_MATTER #protest2020 pic.twitter.com/Vsv3m1Orlq

The Boogaloos are an emerging extremist group that has yet to be truly categorized. In a world of Antifa and looters vs. protestors, they are confounding efforts to phase out agitators looting businesses.

Boogaloos are a sect of libertarianism.

Libertarian historian George Woodcock defines libertarianism as the philosophy that fundamentally doubts authority and advocates transforming society by reform or revolution.

However, some pockets of the group have espoused white supremacy while others reject it. But they have an affinity for toting guns in public and a “boogaloo” rallying cry. This is commonly viewed as code for another US civil war.

Beware of white supremacists & anti-Black racist like this, showing up to these anti-racism protests pretending to be allies. These are members of the white supremacists gang the Boogaloo Boys. They often wear these Hawaii print shirts to identify each other. pic.twitter.com/xPxf7qjoAd

The movement started in obscure online platforms but is now growing on mainstream platforms. During this moment of protest, it is starting to move offline. Boogaloos resemble the militia movement which has historically been a force for promoting violence.

Here's 3 far-right individuals leaving the #GeorgeFloyd protest in Sac tonight. These Hawaiian shirts are used to signal their affiliation with the Boogaloo movement. Boogaloo – a euphemism for a second civil war,
which is widely recognized by far-right militias & neo-Nazis. pic.twitter.com/T7ZJ7pbI2u

Is Boogaloo Antifa?

The Antifa movement in the United States is a left-wing, anti-fascist political activist movement that comprises autonomous activist groups. They aim to achieve their political objectives through the use of direct action rather than through policy reform.

In Los Angeles, roving bands of thieves drove around in cars and communicated by cellphone, identifying businesses to loot.

Three former US servicemen and self-proclaimed members of the far-right “boogaloo” movement were arrested on domestic terrorism charges. They are accused of carrying unregistered firearms and trying to spark violence during protests against police brutality.

According to the Clark Country Detention Center records: Stephen Parshall, 35, Andrew Lynam Jr., 23, and William Loomis, 40, are each being held on $1 million bond.

The main takeaway from the Boogaloo case today is that the FBI has undercovers and informants all over that movement. Stay tuned soon if you like Hawaiian shirts. pic.twitter.com/nSXFFRJ171

A preliminary hearing will be held on June 17.

The three white male defendants previously served in the US Navy, US Army, and US Air Force.

Reports also noted that the men “self-identified as part of the ‘Boogaloo’ movement.”

Is it really that hard to see that the KKK, Boogaloo Bois, Proud Boys, MAGA, GOP are all one in the same?
— Ricky Davila (@TheRickyDavila) June 2, 2020

The men planned to sow discord at a protest in Nevada in early April. One of the men said the group “was not joking around.”

Also, “that is was for people who wanted to overthrow the United States government.”

Peaceful protests are looking to create change through nonviolence. However, extremist groups are galvanizing on their momentum to create a civil war.

"Wyoming is smaller than Washington by population, but it has three times as many workers in mining, logging and construction, and 10 times as many workers in manufacturing. In other words, Wyoming is a well-rounded working-class state. A new state of Washington would not be." - Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton
That's code for: Wyoming is white and Republican and DC is black and Democrat. Tom Cotton served in Iraq and unfortunately didn't die there. Disgusting person.

Criminality and violence

Since 2019, at least nine people affiliated with the boogaloo movement have been arrested for actions believed to be related to the boogaloo ideology. Some of the charges against people affiliated with the movement include murder,[49] conspiracy to damage and destroy by fire and explosive, possession of unregistered firearms,[46] making a terroristic threat against a peace officer,[12] inciting a riot, and aggravated breach of peace.[47]

Federal law enforcement agencies and supporting organizations have issued statements warning of the possibility of violence related to the movement. A May 29, 2020 memo published by the Department of Homeland Security warned law enforcement of an extremist white supremacist Telegram channel encouraging its members to commit acts of violence and inciting them to "start the 'boogaloo'".[50] In June 2020, the Trump administration issued a warning to law enforcement and public safety organizations that adherents to the boogaloo movement might target Washington, D.C. According to a June 15 intelligence assessment by the National Capital Region Threat Intelligence Consortium, a fusion center that aids the Department of Homeland Security and other federal national security and law enforcement groups, "the District [of Columbia] is likely an attractive target for violent adherents of the boogaloo ideology due to the significant presence of US law enforcement entities, and the wide range of First Amendment-Protected events hosted here." The report also warned that adherents may live in D.C., or may be prepared to travel long distances to D.C. "to incite civil unrest or conduct violence encouraged in online forums associated with the movement." On June 19, the Department of Homeland Security published an intelligence report that drew a similar conclusion, and stated that "domestic terrorists advocating for the boogaloo very likely will take advantage of any regional or national situation involving heightened fear and tensions to promote their violent extremist ideology and call supporters to action."[51][52]
Killings of police and security officers in California
Main article: 2020 boogaloo killings

U.S. Air Force sergeant Steven Carrillo and accomplice Robert Justus were charged with the June 6, 2020 murder of a Santa Cruz County deputy and the May 29 murder of a Federal Protective Service officer in Oakland. Carrillo is an active-duty member of an elite Air Force unit tasked with guarding American military personnel at unsecure foreign airfields.[45] Carrillo wrote "Boog" and the phrases "I became unreasonable" (a popular meme among boogaloo groups) and "Stop the duopoly" in his own blood on the hood of a vehicle he hijacked. The white van allegedly used in the murders also contained a patch with a boogaloo symbol, and a ballistic vest bearing the boogaloo symbol of an American flag with an igloo instead of stars.[53][49]

Authorities linked the crimes to the boogaloo movement and said the men used recent demonstrations against racial injustice as a cover to attack law enforcement.[11] The FBI agent in charge of the investigation said in a news conference that the alleged perpetrators did not appear to intend to join the protests, saying "They came to Oakland to kill cops."[45][54] Authorities have not yet determined the ideological motive behind the shootings.[55] Several conservative commentators linked the killing of the Oakland officer, Dave Underwood, to the demonstrations. Media Matters for America characterized the right-wing media outlets' coverage as an attempt to use the death of Underwood, who was Black, to "discredit the wider Black Lives Matter protests". Fox News anchor Eric Shawn spoke of the George Floyd protests, saying "we have been under attack from domestic terrorists," then reported Underwood's killing. Sean Hannity asserted Underwood was "murdered by rioters."[54]
Other incidents

On November 23, 2019, a police officer approached the Mahopac, New York home of Alex Booth, a 28-year-old Afghanistan veteran, to investigate an accusation of domestic violence. When Booth refused to come out, police set up a perimeter around the home. Booth began streaming the events on his gun-themed Instagram account, where he used the username "Whiskey Warrior 556". Booth, who was wearing body armor and armed with a knife, believed police had arrived to confiscate a magazine under his state's red flag laws.[1][56] During the standoff, Booth began livestreaming on Instagram about the standoff, referencing the boogaloo and posting memes.[2] He gained over 100,000 followers during the incident, some of whom urged him not to surrender to law enforcement. One follower with a large following of their own encouraged others to travel to the town and "shoot traitors". Booth's own posts became increasingly threatening, but after a seven-hour standoff he surrendered to police. Booth was arrested on charges related to the domestic violence accusation. The county sheriff's office denied Booth's claims that the arrest was related to his Second Amendment rights, and reported that they had found no firearms or magazines in the home.[1][56] The event was later identified as the cause of a large spike in boogaloo-related comments on the 4chan /pol/ board, as well as on other boogaloo sites and right-wing militia social media pages, where followers organized to disrupt police by bombarding them with phone calls, and posted incitements of violence.[2]

A Facebook user who was later identified as Aaron Swenson was arrested on April 11, 2020 in Texas, after streaming a live video on Facebook in which he stated he was driving around looking for police officers to ambush. He was apprehended after a high-speed police chase, and found to be wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying loaded firearms and ammunition. Swenson had shared boogaloo memes on his Facebook page, and other adherents of the movement watched and commented during his live stream. Swenson had also posted a photo to Facebook the day after the shooting of Duncan Lemp, in which he wore a Hawaiian shirt and combat vest and used the hashtag "#HisNameWasDuncan".[12][57]

On May 30, three men who identified themselves as members of the boogaloo movement were arrested on terrorism charges in Las Vegas, Nevada. The men, who had been plotting since April to bomb an electrical substation, had decided instead to focus on the protests that were happening throughout the country in response to the killing of George Floyd. At an anti-lockdown protest in Las Vegas several days earlier, they had told a confidential informant that they intended to try to incite violence and kick off a riot at a George Floyd protest. They were arrested when they were found filling canisters with gasoline and creating Molotov cocktails on their way to such a protest on May 30, and each was charged with the federal crimes of conspiracy to damage and destroy by fire and explosive and possession of unregistered firearms. They were also accused in state court of felony conspiracy, terrorism, and possession of explosives.[46]

Two men were arrested on June 5 in Richland County, South Carolina for attempting to incite a riot at a George Floyd protest. Law enforcement believe the men are affiliated with the boogaloo movement. Both men were wearing Hawaiian shirts when they were arrested; one also had boogaloo patches and a flag, the other had two pistols and two long guns.[47][58][59]
