I am fluent in French and I have learned a smattering of Japanese but Chinese with it's 50,000 character written vocabulary is too much for me. I hope someone is able to help you!
You ONLY need to know 3000 Chinese characters,that's enough!! Even the native speakers who were highly educated known not more than 5000.

Not as hard as you imaged.Patience and practice are the only things you'v to have when you are learning Chinese.

+840 common slangs
+Simplified + traditional fonts
+80 accents
