thanks eos, you really broke it up in a way that i can understand. i still need practice, but your explanation has finally given me an approach to understanding the differences between plurals and posessives. here's what's laughable, i am a reader. but, i still have to refer to other writing to remember, for example if the quotes go after the period or before... thanks a million, really.

Shedeka

oops, shekeda

Smile Dyslexic fingers, eh?

I have problems with quotes versus 'periods' too (outside North America, "period" SURE doesn't mean a full stop)! Embarrassed

The same with brackets and question/exclamation marks. It seems quotes go after the full stop - but it never looks right like that.

Gala, I'm beginning to wonder if your keyboard has a 'shift' key on it! Smile
