I think a lot of it is down to when you post. As I'm in the UK I come on v early am US time. I tend to see a lot of spammers then.

I see that, too. A great many of the spammers are in India, with a ten hour time difference. When it's three a.m. in North America, it's one in the afternoon in Mumbai. Busy little f*ckers, aren't they?
Definitely, when they're not doing that they're phoning me to claim there's something wrong with my computer, or asking if I've recently had an accident that wasn't my fault, or if I've been mis-sold payment protection insurance.

Ink your q raises further inquiry. I've attempted the same posting on a second such site and was immediately rejected as spam (alliteration purely intended). And this bothers me because in many instances I'd like to get response from another quarter or two. Therefore I wonder just how drastically one should edit his posting before doing so
