18lb'er smoked on a weber
cornbread dressing
Mashed potatoes
gravy made out of the drippings
rolls and butter
Whipped Acorn Squash
corn
Candied Sweet potatoes
Cranberry sauce made from fresh cranberries
Oysters baked with garlic butter and crushed Ritz
Pie made from fresh pumpkins

It is almost the same every year. I used to do a fruit and cream cheese jello mold too but it got discontinued due to lack of interest.

I dont think that you understand the concept of being the owner. Being owner means you never have to do anything. This is supposed to be one of the rewards of doing something with your life, for not ending up being a checker at Walmart.

Thanks for askin' (I'm envying your pumpkin pie).

We're going to cousins (Mom's side) and I've never had T Day with them before. I'm assuming turkey, stuffing, and salad, and possibly something Mexican as that side has strong ties to south of the border.

My mother's bringing her awesome cheesecake.

I'll be driving back from Northern New Jersey to LI (my folks really shouldn't drive long distances at night) so I hope the coffee's strong.

I see, since mom is bringing cheesecake you ASSUME that you will get fed American food. Now watch it turn out to be turkey tamales and tomatillo salad!

The pumpkins were decoration in the restaurant for a month, now for the last week I have been selling them as pie, plus I get one for the family. You know my grandparents went on endlessly about the depression...waste not want not and all of that. Some of it rubbed off.

@hawkeye10,
Oh, they're born here, so it'll be American for the most part. Heh, if it was Mexican I wouldn't mind either. I made a traditional turkey, etc. this past weekend as RP and I won't really have a T Day to ourselves otherwise.

OH GOD....please tell me that the food will be edible. Thanksgiving charity kitchens tend to be only a half a step above school lunchroom fare....dry, over cooked and without flavor....BUT SERVED WITH A SMILE.

Be nice. It is thanksgiving, custom demands a pause in hostilities.

Your comprehension skills are toast. I was demeaning the food typically found , asking if your event was an exception to the rule of crappola chow.

@hawkeye10,
then why say it at all? My comprehension skills are excellent. Your ability to discern what or what is NOT hurtful is what is lacking.
