Hey, I thought this thread needed a poll. Check it out.

Cool! But, so many choices, and you can pick just the one, damn. Razz

I went for arrogant gasbag over hideous troll, cause I think the inner soul is more important than the looks. <grins>

Now can you add fake and vain and something about her songs being mindnumbingly bland drivel in there too?

Now, for a thread just like this one on Meryl Streep ... Razz

I concur with all of the negative statements made heretofore except for the criticisms of her choices in men. As for her singing voice, it is certainly one of the best of her generation, but omitting operatic voices, I would have to deny BS the title of best and award it to to Barbara Cook.

Glad to see all the physically gorgeous A2Kers would resort to criticizing some personality for their looks. Are we all also svelte and consistantly attractive to the opposite sex (well, too the same sex also, ha, ha). Streisand has made some great movies, some great recordings and packed them in at her concerts. Somebody must like her! She's also made some mediocre movies and recordings just like every other star.

Ellain Strich is an ugly old broad (she jokes about it hereself) but can still belt them out on Broadway and win a Tony. Unbelievable legs, though.

She may have been hot in her hey day, but she's ridiculously annoying.

How about Bette Midler? I'm not sure which one I'd hit with a crowbar first.

My response is that I dont usually THINK about babs...but when i do.. I imagine that nose on display at the wax museum in new york dripping wet because they cant keep the room cold enough to get that much wax to stay formed.
Aside from that... >>eekk<< Im a wierd liberal and I am never opposed to seeing her spend her all too easily earned money on my political views Twisted Evil
i still think she needs singing lessons...
She is like madonna to me.. An ok voice that isnt well used outside a bedroom .

I think she was great in "What's Up, Doc?"
I admit it: I liked "Yentl".
I also enjoyed very much "The Prince of Tides", even if I was amazed at the size of her ego in that movie.

She has a great voice, but her style isn't attractive to me.

And most of the other pictures of her that I've seen are below par. Some are just terrible.

Oh, Mr. Streisand....once named Brolin,
I will entertain you in bed with a song that was stolen
From Broadway!! Light up the stage and you won't regret it,
Leave my home to do concerts? Forget it!
All I need is you, who loves me for who I am,
A total Jewish yenta who happens to like ham.
Make that prosciutto please, we divas digest it with ease,
and sing it's graces while we gaze towards the sky....
during sex, because it's all about I....

I'm with fbaezer on this one. I have to appreciate her, but I don't enjoy her at all. Loved what my son said about her. "She sounds like she's showing off all the time." About the only movie that I remember her in was The Fanny Bryce Story. (think that was it)

Did like her slow interp of Happy Days are Here Again, but only because it was different. I really don't know what looks have to do with the ability to sing, however.

Sorry, I don't do polls.

Non-argument. Someone also must have liked Hitler - he really used to pack them in, too. Not comparing Streisand to Hitler (hello) - just pointing out the vacuousness of the argument. Hell, someone must really like MickeyD hamburgers - they sure sell well enough. No problem of mine - more power to 'em. But it doesnt suggest much of an argument that I shouldn't say those burgers suck.

Nah, she just didn't like the car much that day -- too many people in the back seat. She is very, very not shy so long as you are not holding a needle.
