Absent father, absent mother, difficulties in relationships

It seems that people who had an absent father or mother in their childhood have difficulties in having stable and lasting relationships.
I do not agree but looking at the people I know sometimes I think this theory is valid.

This seems to be a reasonable theory.

We get our template of life and relationships from our parents--or parent figures. I imagine life navigation is much more difficult without a model to use--whether you agree and follow the model, or decide to go the other way--at least you saw it done from a close angle, if you had parents.
