I think when I accidentally discovered the similar-sounding words, bouillon and tourbillon, I realized that this was the genesis of the image in the cartoon, that of a whirlwind juxtaposed with a bowl of broth. I say accident, because I have no knowledge of the French language other than liking the way it sounds.
