It is easy to say that because we have heroic individuals, it doesn't make this or any other war anything but a tragic necessity. That is, if it is really determined by history that it was a necessity. I don't see anything wrong with glorifying an individual for doing what was their determination as right for them and right for their country. It can't be used to glorify war.
