French is spoken by French people, not me. French is spoken by some Canadians.

Compliment slip is the name for the little courtesy slip, not card, which goes with printed matter when a letter is not appropriate. I have always thought that a charming custom.

Trip planned back to Hong Kong in August to hold a memorial dinner for my husband there (he was a Hong Kong civil servant for 18 years), coming back via Thailand. But I also want to visit America and Costa Rica in about November!

Motherland has a certain attraction, to be sure. I adore Italy and would go back there in a minute, but this year we are thinking of going by train to Provence, Avignon to be precise.
