Dear friends,
My teacher told me that "like to do sth" meant "like to do something you are not used to doing" while "like doing sth" meant "like doing sth you are used to doing"
Could you tell me how to explain this sentence:
Life is hard for the Inuit, but they still__ to live there.
A. enjoy B. like C. wish D. hope
The right answer is B(like), but why "like to do sth" is appropriate here, if it means "like to do something you are not used to doing"?
In this sentence, "like" means "prefers" or "choose" to live there.

This is not correct. Perhaps he or she was thinking of "would like to do sth".
