I'm playing Sims Deluxe. It started out pretty rocky - my first 2 roommates weren't getting along (Bob and Judy?) - then I made another family and one of those roommates lit herself on fire and died. That's what happens when you're too lazy to learn how to cook! LOL Yep - she's just an urn now Rolling Eyes

But my remaining rommate, Melissa, and Bob from the 1st house are in love.....ooooooooo.......

I usually like puzzle games liek Myst and Syberia. Still haven't finished the Alice game - I stink at killing those stoopid giant bugs in the garden.

I'm a gamer. I like the Railroad Tycoon and Caesar/Pharoah series of city builder games, among others. Any kind of strategy game, basically, but especially space-based ones (Masters of Orion, Space Empire IV, etc.).

I'm into RPG's, but i'm burned out on them right now. I've been mostly playing 1602, which is of the type which MassCass mentioned, the empire building type. It's fascinating, because it comes with an editor which allows you to write your own scenarios. It's on a much lower level of detail than the old SimCity, you deal with individuals, much as Sug is describing for the Sims Deluxe. I haven't looked at the Sims lately. Right now, i don't need another obsession.

Sugar..a week later and they're in love...those crazy kids...lets hope they dont kill each other

Okay blacksmithin....Im a great fan of Ceasar as well..and can I just tell you that I am so mad at myself for not getting to Ceasar? I even went to the point of looking for cheats..then i found 12 year old proclaiming their own victory..I was just horrified...I will go back, and I will do it correctly...only have like 3 steps to go...I think im missing something.

Setanta...I saw 1602 and said...unless theres a new SimCity I aint buying nothing new till I get through Ceasar...how is it? Smile
Dont look at new Simcity...or Ceasar if you dont want a new obsession. Smile

1602 is a gas, Boss, very well done. It's by Sunflower, a German company. You sail off to an island chain somewhere, set up a warehouse and start building a community. First a pioneer shack, one resident. Provide them food and cloth and they will convert to Settlers (women sneak in somehow, damn them) by getting married, and there will be two of them. Settlers live in two-story houses, and reach a population of six per house. They want booze, tobacco and spices. You can raise their taxes if you consistently provide the booze. Next step is citizen, with up to 15 persons per three story house. Next step is merchant, and then aristocrat. At each level, you must provide more goods, so it is a self-accelerating program. I like it better than any game of the type which i've seen. It is more like Caesar, but i prefer 1602.

Oooooh I loooove PC games - got waaaay too many in my collection: RPGS, strategy, FPS, wargames...

Current favorites on the hardrive:

Best strategy game I've ever played - Medieval:Total War

http://www.gamesdomain.com/gdreview/zones/reviews/pc/sep02/meditw.html

Combines the best aspects of Civilization types games with a great tactcial combat system.

Venerable favorites - East Front II, Rising Sun and West Front - tactical level WWII combat (turn based) - great for PBEM with a human opponent.

Working my way through Throne of Bhaal, last of the Baldur's Gate RPGs.

I love games but don't have time to play them anymore.

My favorite games were od/sim games and the best of them all was the turn based Civ series.

Alpha Centauri is their space one (and the newest) and it's an educational sim game.

I have played Sims but after I figured out the cheats to get unlimited money it was not fun, I'd just build mansions and would never sim the people.

Sid is great..aint he? Smile Loved when Alpha was in creation, interesting as always.

yeah, the SC cheats are pretty boring.

I liked the Quake cheats actually.

But, Ive found that by the time you get to searching for the cheats <at least in my case> Im already bored with the game and looking for new fun stuff anyway.

Quite true Quinn. I avoid cheats till I get bored, but most games bore in in a week. So you like Sid too huh? I made a game once based on his Civ 3 engine. I loved that game.

One game I love is Fottball Manager, you play the owner of a Football (the game played with the foot, not American Football) team and buy and sell players. It was my favorite game for a long time.

I'm not a big fan of FPS games but when I created a private ISP foir my friends they insisted that we use the high speed network to play games (gamers are like that, they hear the specs on some lighning servers and they start saying "that would make my klan game run very fast you know.." ) so I started playing Unreal and it is pretty fun to play a game with up to 50 human players at once.

I prefer sim games to play alone (I wasn't gonna go there :-), but plaing against humans sometimes beats playing a computer. I hate playing chess against computers for e.g.

I like that but my friends are terrible at chess so I have to seek competition elsewhere. Playing chess online revived my love for the game.
