@revelette2,
There is no justification. There are sadists on our police forces who really "enjoy" there work. They brag about it and get off bragging about it. They have their sick **** groupies like goojohn and coldjoint who fantasize of beating up old men, women and children, people of color.

Former Girlfriend Feared Delco Officer, Got Protection Before Deadly Shooting
By Dan Stamm and Alison Burdo

Right before police say Colwyn Police Officer Stephen Rozniakowski killed his ex-girlfriend Valeria Morrow, investigators said Rozniakowski resigned from the department. Prosecutors could consider seeking the death penalty for the disgraced officer. (Published Tuesday, Dec 16, 2014)

“If you find me dead, he did it.”

That’s what Valerie Morrow told NBC10 Investigative reporter Harry Hairston just hours before she died, allegedly at the hand of the Delaware County officer she feared.

Stone Dead, Had Self-Inflicted Cutting Wounds

Stephen Rozniakowski, an officer with the Colwyn Borough Police Department, wore a bulletproof vest when he kicked down the door of Morrow’s home on Glenfield Avenue in Glenolden, Pennsylvania around 9 p.m. Monday and began firing, according to investigators.

“He went there to execute the entire family, in my opinion. I have no doubt about that,” said Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan.

Valerie Morrow was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend and former police officer Stephen Rozniakowski, who also wounded Morrow's teenage daughter, investigators said. Morrow's husband, an officer from another town then shot Rozniakowski, wounding him. This comes after Morrow had reached out to NBC10's Investigators saying she believed Rozniakowski wanted to kill her. (Published Wednesday, Dec 17, 2014)

He shot and killed Morrow then shot Morrow’s teenage daughter in the arm before Morrow's husband Thomas Morrow, an off-duty Morton officer, returned fire.

After the shooting, Rozniakowski called in the shooting on his police-issued radio.

Officer Shoots Suspect in Head During Deadly Stop

“I am the actor,” the 32-year-old told dispatchers.

Earlier in the day, Morrow reached out to Hairston because he previously covered past stalking allegations against Rozniakowski.

Morrow told Hairston she dated Rozniakowski for months before ending the relationship in August to reunite with her husband. In the weeks and months that followed, she said Rozniakowski called and texted her repeatedly with threatening messages. She agreed to come in for a Tuesday interview. but it never happened after she was killed in her own home.

At the time of the shooting, Philly police were working on an arrest warrant for Rozniakowski after he allegedly keyed Morrow’s car while parked at a Center City garage.

Before the fatal shooting, Rozniakowski called the Colwyn Borough Police Department to announce his resignation, investigators said.

About three hours before the shooting, Norwood Police served the suspect with an emergency court order to stay away from Morrow. At the time they took away his service weapon and asked if he had any other weapons but Whelan said Rozniakowski told them he didn’t.

Rozniakowski was taken to Crozer-Chester Medical Center where he remained in critical but stable condition Tuesday night, according to officials.

Whelan said he will consider pushing for the death penalty when Rozniakowski is tried.

Hairston put a spotlight on Rozniakowski earlier this year when the officer was placed on "administrative leave" after his former fiancee filed a protection from abuse order against him.

Plymouth Township Police arrested Rozniakowski and charged him with 25 counts of stalking and 50 counts of harassment for allegedly contacting his former fiancee with repeated phone and text messages.

"As a police officer, he knows the bounds and what the boundaries are and what the laws are," said Marty Mullaney, an attorney for Rozniakowski, told NBC10 in April. "I think his emotions got the best of him."

At that time, Rozniakowski had his police-issued gun taken away, Hills said.

The suspect was scheduled to appear in court Thursday on those charges.

Police men and women are human and as such some are going to commit crimes the same as other people. The upsetting and discouraging links and videos you bring are the ones dealing with police brutality and murder in their carrying out their duties and being encouraged and protected by other police officers and the local prosecutors and such. It seems something is systematically wrong in the police force.

Sure it is as there is nothing so easy in a nice safe environment with no time pressure to second guess some police officer and his training.

The officer Wilson and the Mr.Brown interaction from start to finished took all of 90 seconds and no matter how must smoke others had pour out that the subject of this thread not the careful picking out a few questionable interactions between police officers and civilians with 300 millions citizens and roughly a million police officers in the US or coming to the conclusion that there is something wrong with the nation police departments.

@BillRM,
What a ******* piece of lying bullshit. Cops have had a declining death rate for the last thirty years. This year nationally police will have 14 deaths. 14.

Its hard to think of a profession that has that same small death rate.

You have to be a ******* pig or ******* a pig to have the bullshit opinions you hold. How many times have you had to fire your service weapon on the job, you asswipe?

Police & Firefighter work dangerous? Yes. And no.
Rate: 0 Flag

Email

Do police and firefighters (who, oddly enough, have almost the same chance of dying on the job) really have higher workplace fatality rates than other occupations?

Yes.

And no.

Check out the 2006 fatality statistics published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor. The national average mortality rate on the job for all occupations is 4 deaths per 100,000 workers. Police and firefighter deaths on the job are a bit over 4 times that average. Clearly their jobs are more hazardous than what most working people have to face.

But let's compare that public safety mortality rate with some other blue collar, mostly male jobs. The figures below are the number of on-the-job deaths annually per 100,000 workers, by occupation (and note the average for men vs. women):

Policemen: 16.8
Firefighters: 16.6
Men: 6.9
Women: 0.7
Farmers and Ranchers: 37.2
Grounds Maintenance Workers: 13.5
Fishers and related Fishing Workers: 147.2
Construction Laborers: 21.4
Roofers: 33.5
Structural Iron and Steel Workers: 61
Operating Engineers and other Equipment Operators: 18.2
Aircraft Pilots and Flight Engineers: 90.4
Refuse and Recyclable Material Collectors: 40.7
Logging: 87.4
Mining: 28.1
Taxi and limousine drivers: 22.1
Truck Transportation: 27.2

You can read the entire document by clicking here.

Or here: http://orangejuiceblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/cfoi_rates_2006.pdf
As you can see, a number of occupations entail as great or greater risk. Indeed, a grounds maintenance worker faces almost as much mortality risk as our police and firefighters. Construction laborers face a 28% higher risk. Truck drivers are 63% more likely to die on the job. Roofers face twice the mortality risk of our public safety workers. And then there are some REALLY dangerous occupations to consider.

A common lament is that "police and firefighters' wives -- when they send their husbands off to work -- don't know whether or not they will return that evening." [Somehow it's unmanly to reverse the genders.] True enough.

But the fact is that there are millions of workers who go off to work each morning with less of a chance of returning home than the odds facing a police officer or firefighter.

One reason few people are aware of this fact is that when a public safety employee dies on the job, there is a huge amount of publicity. You seldom have a private funeral for a cop or firefighter -- it's an "all hands on deck" evolution.

Meanwhile every day people die on the job in these other riskier occupations, and such tragedies seldom get even a mention in the papers, let alone on TV.

Every occupational death is a tragedy, and no one should downplay that fact. But the idea that police and firefighters face incredible dangers is simply not true. Public safety jobs entail risk, but not THAT much risk.

In a separate blog item I will deal with the public safety RETIREE morality rate. For now, suffice it to say that there is little difference compared to the general population -- labor union propaganda notwithstanding.

You are one loathsome human.
