@coldjoint,
Typical obfuscation from a racist piece of crap. Clearly the chimp has learnt from its masters at Fox News, and the lesson is "avoid the truth at all costs."

A Texas police officer was fired Monday for using a Taser on a 76-year-old man in a confrontation caught on camera in December.

A dash cam captured Victoria Police Officer Nathanial Robinson pulling over the elderly man, Pete Vasquez, outside a convenience store for driving with an expired inspection sticker.

Vasquez told the officer he was driving a dealer’s car that didn’t require a current sticker, Click2Houston reports.

This Letter Could Restart The Case Against Darren Wilson
Source: Think Progress website noting NAACP letter

The NAACP Legal Defense Fund* wrote an open letter to Missouri Judge Maura McShane asking her to investigate Ferguson prosecutor Bob McCulloch and his team for misconduct. The NAACP notes that, under Missouri law, McShane has the authority to investigate McCulloch and appoint a new special prosecutor to handle the case against Darren Wilson. Such a move would effectively restart the case against Wilson for killing Michael Brown, after no charges were filed against Wilson during last year’s grand jury proceeding.

1. McCulloch and his team “knowingly presented false witness testimony to the grand jury.” McCulloch admitted this on a radio interview on December 19. The NAACP notes this is likely a violation of the Missouri Rules of Professional Conduct. Specifically, McCulloch allowed a woman to testify as an eyewitness who he knew was not at the scene of the incident and had a history of “racially-charged rants about the incident on the internet.”

2. McCulloch and his team “presented incorrect and misleading statements of law to the grand jury and sanctioned unlawful juror practices.” Specifically, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kathi Alizadeh distributed copies of a Missouri statute that was contravened by a Supreme Court decision 30 years earlier. When Alizadeh addressed the issue weeks later she said that the statute was “not entirely incorrect or inaccurate” but the grand jury should “disregard” it. At other times, Ms. Alizadeh seems genuinely confused about what legal standards were at issue and shared her confusion with the grand jury, including this remarkable exchange:

“It’s an oppressive organization now controlled by the one percent of corporate America. Corporate America is using police forces as their mercenaries.”

By Jay Syrmopoulos on December 2, 2014

Ferguson, Mo. – Retired Philadelphia Police Captain, Ray Lewis, has a message for America. In a recent interview, Lewis makes it known that gone are the days of the police working for the people.

According to Lewis,

“It’s an oppressive organization now controlled by the one percent of corporate America. Corporate America is using police forces as their mercenaries.”

@bobsal u1553115,
Not a holy fool at all. I am not even in entire disagreement with you. I am only stating that everything you say is completely one sided and you completely dismiss everything that isn't a racially charged or anti-cop campaign. People suck. Not just cops. Yes he is one white cop in a all black neighborhood, which to me looks like the reason this story happened. Everyone lined up to persecute that cop before they could agree what story they wanted to go with. There were obviously lots of smart phones out, but no one wanted to show any part of the shooting. Racism happened and happens, but your cop hating is just as ignorant and misinformed as racism. It's like when white people used to just blame black people for crimes because it was easy. It does not make it right. Just because it is easier for a town of black people to hate a white cop than a black store robber does not mean the white cop was wrong. I don't see anything that would suggest the cop was lying, other than the fact that cops are not popular in Ferguson.

from a cop

Quote:
Roughly 400 citizens have died annually, in recent years, as a result of a police action. The circumstances of these deaths are not readily made available to the public and because not all police forces participate in this accounting, the record is far from complete. The most detailed analyses of cases that end in the death of a citizen as a result of police contact, are being accomplished by other organizations, such as the news media.

This must change. The death of any citizen at the hands of the police, regardless of the circumstances, must be documented and intensely scrutinized. Federal or state authorities must build an independent investigative model that will ensure police transparency and accountability. Most importantly, police officers must be willing to accept questions, oversight and criticism.

The police must demonstrate what they already know to be true: They have nothing to hide.

We don't need to keep score. We don't need to pick a side. We're better than that. We need to get back on the same team.

I dont know either. Who if anyone has promoted the idea, and who if anyone has rejected the idea? My first guess is that the politicians are the problem, first off because as authors of they law they know better than anyone else how fucked up it is and the last thing they want is tape that the citizens might get to see documenting this, and they would need to come up with the money.

It is unfortunate that this Ferguson thing became so much about sliming an apparently good cop who was just doing his job and protecting himself. We should be going after the bosses of the cops, the politicians.
