What's the meaning of the sentence about air fares?

(a) air fares (economic class for continuing travel distance less than 5 hours and business class for more than 5 hours except for Directors limited to one per trip beyond 3 hour duration)

In the paragraph, what does the part after "except for" mean?
Could anyone tell me? Thank you!

Directors are allowed one business class trip of 3 hours or more.
