They are talking about the same thing, but do you think the indefinite article is optional?:

-She has (a) unique/incomparable/unrivalled/unequalled beauty.
-She has (a) beauty that is unique/incomparable/unrivalled/unequalled .

I'm kinda thinking if it's optional, and I agree it is, how can one be preferable over the other?

I think I would probably use an indefinite article if the quality being described was unique to that person, and omit it if the quality had a generic nature, but in many cases the context can make clear what is being meant.
