One of my daughter's "friends" has done this to her twice. Has she any come back?

There is no law against it. It's unethical and immoral.

In order to remedy this from happening again, your daughter should always keep her phone 'locked' and passworded when her phone is not in her possession. That's why they have that functionality built-in.

Yes, you can take legal action, for defamation of charcter. For instance, I can know your phone number, but, it does not give me the right to call you.
