"Way longer" or "for way longer?"

Hi! I was just wondering if it is correct to use "way longer" instead of "for way longer". E.g. "I've been writing for way longer than that."

I recommend: "I've been writing for much longer than that."
or
"I've been writing for a lot longer than that."
or
"I've been writing for a great deal longer than that."

But is 'for' absolutely necessary to be totally grammatically correct?
