@eurocelticyankee,
You are right, of course.
I forgot to assign to you Mùller's goal against the USA.

@eurocelticyankee,
I just know I'm going to be sorry about picking Neymar this time, since of course I like Benzema quite well and I like a lot of others too, don't get me started. My semi ordered list of, say, ten, is too richly fat to choose from.

@fbaezer,
Thanks Fab, I forgive you, say 3 Hail Marys and watch 4 episodes of Eastenders.

Good luck in phase 2

Don't look in your rear view mirror or you'll see me and my boys coming fast.

Still waiting for Timur and Pantalones to make their picks for Phase 2.

Also, anyone who wants to join in this phase is very welcome.

If Brazil lose this, ref Howard Webb will need a security escort to the nearest airport..

@lmur,
Looking at slow motion replay, he made an excellent (and very brave) call.

The ball definitely made contact with the upper arm, as well as shoulder and chest.
Webb was behind them and couldn't see, but his linesman immediately flagged and Webb wisely went over to check what he'd seen.

Brazil have just won on pens.

@Lordyaswas,
Yes, an excellent decision by Webb and his assistant. Must admit I thought it was a mistake at first but the 'slo-mo' proved otherwise. Gripping game - a corker, even!

@lmur,
Same here. I thought he'd ballsed it up and potentially damaged Brazil's chances.

He actually did brilliantly given the pressure....better than a corker, I would even go so far as to say that he played either a blinder or a stonker!

New handsome guy for Osso to like: David Luiz (well, Julio Cesar is probably not bad either, besides having a fine name).

I was at the 7-11. There was a young clerk and his grumpy Iranian manager. Two co-eds from UVA, a Coke delivery man, a cop, a lady buying lottery tickets, a couple other folks buying miscellaneous stuff, and me.
Someone asked "what's the score?"
Someone answered "Germany's up by one." Or something like that.
I was surprised at how many of this small group said something like "go USA."
I was surprised that no one said "who cares."

@eurocelticyankee,
Bwahaha!

BTW, I truly did laugh out loud when I heard on the sports news that Suarez's nickname is Chewy Louis (Luis).

@fbaezer,
the judge is merciful and I am grateful

I think Mexico has a shot against Holland and I kind of hate it because I could handle my nil expectations of this team at the start of the cup just fine. But as I have hope I'll be heartbroken if they don't make it to the next round.

'tis the life of a fan
