@fbaezer,
We just returned from Cuba last month, and my buddy is talking about later this year. When I know the dates, I'll make sure to have an extra day or two in Mexico City, and will let you know.

Back on the Final.
The only thing I didn't like was Messi's Golden Ball Award.
He knew he didn't deserved it. He was good, but not great. Even his teammate Mascherano had a better World Cup.
That prize was given to Messi's marketability, not his ability as a footballer.
I think Mats Hummels deserved the award.

Just wait until 2018!!

Meantime, Viva Mexico!!!!!!!!

Those are fine looking awards for all Phase Winners and the Tournament Runner-up and especially for the Tournament Champion.

@cicerone imposter,
Yes, luck is a factor. Germany has been historically good at the sport. I thought they played with their usual precision but had difficulty penetrating the Argentine defense. I was hoping for a more striking win. Both teams are very good though.

@Germlat,
I didn't watch the whole game - like my wife usually does, but from I observed, both teams played very well. The only incident that somewhat upset me was when the German player got his face bloodied.

All it took was a chink in the armor. They scored that goal so quickly I almost missed it, and my eyes were glued to the TV.

@fbaezer,
what an awesome world cup! Congratulations to fbaezer and also a big thank you for organizing this game for all of us. I've been doing it for the past 2 cups and it's more effort than it seems.

When it started I was not too excited but it surely held my attention since the first game until the last one. It was very even throughout but fate would have it that the losers of the most one-sided matches were Spain and Brazil.

In my opinion, Germany were the team that deserved the cup the most so I was happy to see them beat the Argentinians. I would've loved to see Colombia beat Brazil but I did enjoy the unreal 7-1 score that seems more akin to a baseball score than a football one.

So now we have to wait another 4 years to dedicate one month to this event once more. I hope I enjoy the next cup as much as I did this one.
