ALWAYS means all the time, non-stop. Do you think B's sentence must be changed to
-I do it very often. etc.(=I frequently talk to myself inwardly. )

Always can also mean "habitually, frequently, often, usually", but I agree that you can change "always" to "often".
@contrex,
Commonly, people might say "I'm always doing it".
This is not taken to mean continously....but continually; frequently; often, as already said.
