Sometimes I'll get sad or be upset and it always seems like my boyfriend gets mad at me for it and becomes defensive.
@Aihsilam,
Sexes often express feelings differently. Women cry when they're angry....fellows usually not. He might not understand your feelings.
Some girls and women turn on the waterworks to get their own way or manipulate or emotionally blackmail a guy. This can be very annoying. I hope you are not doing that.
@contrex,
Surely...but just as well as men can turn on the domineering trait. Women really do express emotion differently....it's not necessarily manipulation.
I think Contrex hit on the most likely answer. Many women use tears to manipulate. He hasn't figured out how to respond to it yet. Most men cave. Cry alone when you can't stop yourself for a while - especially in an argument.
If he asks why, tell him you didn't want to seem to be using crying to win an argument. You're just sad.
If that's true.
I have to say - I DESPISE people using tears to get their way - from kids to adults.
@Lash,
Hector Projector....I don't think this is the case for most women.
@contrex,
I seldom cry. If I do it's out of anger/frustration. Initially my husband thought when I seldom cried...it must've meant I wanted my way. He learned that I cry as seldom as he does...and if I do I'm usually angry.
@Aihsilam,
Sometimes, we just feel so gosh darn helpless and frustrated. You know, what are we supposed to be doing about all this.
@roger,
I learned that too...sometimes men feel frustrated if they can't fix it.
@Germlat,
I NEVER cry. But I've been in relationships with dudes who did. Also known many women who did - and bragged about it.
Cop stop, anyone?
Most definitely no projection on my part.
@Lash,
Good approach. Didn't mean to offend....just to make a point. Seriously , I'm sick and tired of this female stereotype. It's false. There are people from both genders who manipulate.
