Pink Martini is an orchestra sized band which does a wide variety of songs, usually in a salsa style. It was formed by the classically-trained pianist Thomas Lauderdale, who asked a friend from their Harvard days to come out to Portland to be the band's lead singer.

Oh yeah . . . for example, there are those who might doubt that Hayley Westenra has perfect pitch. But this live performance, a cappella, puts it beyond doubt . . .
The Relettes started out as the girl group The Cookies and had a hit with Carole King's "Chains" which was later covered by George Harrison and The Beatles.
A later member of the Raelettes was Merry Clayton who sang the iconic part in Gimme Shelter.
