Okay, can this not stop? Just because I don't have some on in the military, I can't make a decision that will affect them? Am I not the leader of the country? Did I not have congress backing to do what was done?

These are things that GW could say. And might I add, let he who is with out sin cast the first stone. (Here I shouldn't be seeing anyone pick up a rock.)

Almost every damn thread on this board is how George Bush is the antichrist and Democrats rule.

Are you really calling our soldiers dimwits? Have you no respect for the fact that they are willing to do something that you are not? I don't see you signing up to defend this nation. That is the original purpose of the military. Yes they sometimes get called off to do things in other countries but first and fore most it is to protect the United States.

Is Chelsea Clinton in the military? No but old Billy certainly sent boys (and girls) to foreign seas and placed them in harms way. Maybe not on the scale that the current administration has, but maybe if he did then 3000 of our CIVILIANS wouldn't have lost their lives.

Thanks for highlighting the harsh realities concerning our courageous administration, Infowarrior.

As far as I am concerned, the heros in the armed forces who sacrifice their lives and health for the nation are very different creatures from those who do the same for George W. Bush and friends. Rolling Eyes

So a bunch of republicans avoided vietnam because of college deferments. So did a lot of democrats. Basically anyone that could avoid the war did.

My point is why are you calling the soldiers Dimwits?

And are you just jealous of Rush Limbaugh's Celebrity? Anal Cyst Homosexual. Or are you a homophobe?

I think you've sprung a leak.

To list the myriad GOP Chickenhawks as examples of the parents of draft-ready boys as evidence of homophobia is just plain whack.

As far as Limbaugh's anal cyst is concerned, TMI, TMI.

I wasn't talking about all of them only the Rush Limbaugh comment.

I don't know the sexual practices of the rest (nor do I care) I thought it a bit childish to throw in those types of comments. It would have been enough to say that he was medically incapable of going. The rest it could have just been said that they were college defered.

Anyone want to talk about why it took Ted Kennedy 8 hours to open the car door for a young lady?

Sure, I'm game.

Then we can begin discussing why George Bush failed to report to duty in Alabama while in the Guard.

Wanna' take bets on which subject will generate the most interest? Laughing

Well considering everyone on this forum is against anything repbulican, I would bet that it would be the George Bush failing to report.

But vehicular manslaughter means so much more to me.

Doesn't the Washington Times, townhall.com, or Fox News websites have forums with an anti-Ted Kennedy link for you to wear yourself out on?

Okay let me rephrase that. The Majority of the people on this forum.

Happy now hobbit? I still would like to know why John Webb is calling soldiers, sailors, and air men and women dimwits?

John Webb, Pist, and Umby, though well intentioned, do tend to go a little over the top when it comes to rhetoric. Put it in the same box as similar comments from Fedral, Tarantula, and McGEntrix.

Well, avoiding Vietnam ain't no reason to condemn anyone - probably evidence of intelligence and foresight as much as anything else!

Thing is, war is usually older men (and now women) sending young men (and now women) off to fight. I don't think it is a valid criticism of this, or any war, simply to say that those prosecuting it are not involved directly. Or - if it is, then it is almost certainly a valid criticism of almost all governments in ALL wars - 'cept mebbe WW II. There are plenty of other reasons to condemn it.
