A course:
-10% test in lesson one
-10% test in lesson two
...
-10% test in lesson ten

My sentence:
-If you fail in the first test (=not getting half of the total mark), make sure the surplus passing marks of the other tests can give you an overall passing mark.

Does it make sense and is it correct English?
