California could be on its way to becoming the first US state to outlaw smoking in cars or trucks that have children inside.
A bill is being considered in the state's assembly to allow police to stop vehicles if a child appears to be exposed to smoke from a pipe, cigar, cigarette, or "any other plant".
So, smoking crack would be admissible, huh? Or is that considered a plant by-product?
Howzabout methamphetimine? Could ya smoke that with the kiddies in the car?
I remember 3 and 4-week road trips across America with my parents in the l960s...three of us kids bunched up in the back seat with all the windows rolled up because of the air conditioning...and two parents who smoked. Our eyes would burn. Our noses would run. We couldn't stop coughing. It was torture.
