I bought at '95 Saturn with 14K miles on it.....

That was five years ago ~ and I still love my car! 'Annie' now has 78K miles on her. I've replaced her alternator and her clutch, but that's it. When I'm ready for a new car, I will buy another Saturn. No problem.

Above all, the service I've received from the dealership has been outstanding. Even out of state. Superb customer relations.

I really should become a Saturn salesperson.....

Oh, I love Saturns.

This is our second (we lease because we hardly do any driving). It's a grey bronze (Who are they kidding? The car is

brown) 2000 SL1. The last one was a

green 1997 SL2. I've found the two models to be extremely similar, particularly

when you add in features. The SL1 is cheaper, but it was tougher to get some options simply because there's less of a call

for putting nicer stuff into the less expensive model.

For the next lease (this one's up at the end of next year), I

think we'll get another SL1.

Eek, SUVs. I live

in Boston, where the extremely narrow streets were laid down by drunken (albeit slender) cows. Plus, it's just hubby and me,

and we don't normally haul stuff. The last thing I need is an SUV. Even from Saturn. The reality is, if they offered

something really small (so long as it was comfortable and safe), I'd consider it. We just, truly, don't need the

room.

You been lookin' at their SUV?

Thanks, quinn1.....oh jeez..... Embarrassed

jespah ~ yeah, I am interested in the Saturn SUV. And I'm hoping that my new job will afford me this option.

I am quite comfortable with my car, but I've always wanted a 'big' vehicle and I'm thrilled that Saturn has come out with something 'bigger'. I'm really holding out for their pick-ups.....Don't get me started.....

Oh, funny!

I'm not sure how many of you here read my big "Help me get a car" thread on Abuzz, but I was involved in an accident that totalled my belived blue SL1 (I was fine, thankfully, and there were no passengers) and we agonized about what to replace it with and ended up with a white (yes white! blech) SW2. I never ever ever ever thought I would have a white station wagon but I LOVE it. It's just like a regular Saturn but more trunk space, basically. The length/ width measurements are exactly the same.

Edit: I had said that my car "suffered a fatal accident", which meant the car, but could be easily misconstrued

Red Dodge Neon, 2000. Five years ago I wouldn't have been caught in one, but for a series of events, that's what I could get (new) and that's what I drive now. 30mpg/80mph, can haul Mrs. SealPoet and the kids when required.

Commuterbox. Comfy chair with a view.

Think the car was built on a Wednesday... I've had almost no trouble with it. Mrs. SP has a '95 Caravan that we are also pleased with...

No, I don't love my car. It's just a car.

But I like it.

So, you want more info.? Ok.
I've had the car for 15 months now. I never thought I'd buy a new car, but I kind of got forced into it due to circumstances at the time.
After checking out the possibilities, the choices came down to a Ford Focus, or a Hyundai Tiburon. I test drove the Ford, it was ok, but.....
then I took the Tiburon for a test drive, and my mind was made up! Very Happy
If you're looking for a sporty car that looks good, is fun to drive, has a great warranty, has the most bang for the buck, the Tiburon is IT!
I have almost anything I could want in a car. The only other thing I could use, is a bit more power. The 2003 model V6 offers that, but it's too late now, and besides that the style changed with the new model, and I like the style of mine better.
What else can I tell you, except that it's cute, not really what guys go for, which is fine with me, since I'm not a guy.
I don't love my car like I love my husband and children, but I'm not ashamed to admit that I do love my car. I went through a lot to be able to have it.

That's why I love my car, too, dlk. I hunted for it, requested it when I couldn't find it, paid for it and even got a refund from Saturn to the tune of $800 because after I put my deposit down, they listed MY car in the paper the next day for $800 less.

And it's a stick shift!

I'd love to get a Tiburon, but it's the most stolen car in Canada these days - apparently young men love it for joy-riding. I do love the looks of them.

I will probably have to be sensible when I replace my beloved Egbert. He's an '89 Civic, with a lot of rough road under his wheels. About 240,000 km, and still zooming along happily most days. (he's not so keen when the temps get over 100F)
