@Kovilpatti,
You mean Minoxidil. It's marketed under the trade name Rogaine and is sold over the counter in the United States.

@jespah,
Well, one does have a craving for fresh killed meat and an uncontrollable urge to hunt down small hoofed animals when the moon is full'.
But that side effect is reported only in about 25% of the users

Minoxidil was first developed as a stage 4 blood pressure medication. The reason it eventually was used to treat hair loss was due to one of its side effects. It caused a condition called black hairy tongue. And yes, the condition is exactly as it sounds.

So, before popping those pills I would consult a doctor.

@farmerman,
"Craving for fresh killed meat and an uncontrollable urge to hunt down small hoofed animals when the moon is full"

The expression is 'OTHER small hooved', get it right next time or you're out of the Freshman Bite Club.

Although the effects (including surreal vivid dreams) last only until the morning herald harks the dawn, and you change.

The squeamish amongst you should look away if the picaresque thought of 'camel toe' is cause for consternation below.

@Kovilpatti,
Yes, it is safe but the results are temporary once you leave taking it, your hair will start to shed again.
