I have been to Austria, disappointed by the lack of Kangaroos and Koalas - very happy to meet all the men in leather pants drinking beer though (or was that Australia?).

I'm really not surprised at the 16 percent for people who have visited Australia once. Most Americans, I think, consider Europe first and foremost in their travel plans. Australia is probably down at about 16 percent. c.i.

Very true, littlek. However, according to the stats provided by the following link, only 1.6 percent have foreign tourists to Australia - not 16 percent as I assumed (in 1997). http://www.shenzhenwindow.net/business/rs-tourist-c.htm
