I've never found any mention of nudie bars on any of the Australia tourist sites. How do they ever expect to attract tourists? lmao

They don't advertise much for fishing either.. I know there are fish down there! Either you folk are hiding them from the rest of the world or it just isn't a big deal for you Aussie types.

I cannot leave my current job for a moment to find time for visiting. If I am absent for more than 2-3 days without being sick or being in active reserve service, I shall be immediately fired and lose income. There is 11 percent unemployment in Israel, and I cannot take a risk. I want to come with enough money to be picky when I search for job in Australia. I guess AU$50,000 is enough for survival on the initial stages of immigrant's life.

From the other side, tourist's impressions differ from these of the resident. I am not searching for beautiful landscapes. Israel does not lack these. I look for the country with relatively stable economy and absence of war, where I can have some hope for decent future in case I am a good employee.

people on guam go quite often to cairns and talk about how clean the place is and how wonderful the people are. i was asked to go on a trip on january 9th 2003 with some friend that work with continental airlines, i can't make that trip. maybe next time. my first time visiting oz was not a good one.

as far as cairns goes, they actively look for tourists from guam and with everyone, and i mean everyone who comes back from cairns with such glowing recommendations, it's a natural spot to go.

Cairns is still the deep north - equates with American deep south.....well, prolly not quite so much - too many tourists and blow-ins, but still....

aaaahhh, Pueo - I did read that before. Just forgot.

The northern Ochers (is that the right term?) seem to have a bit of a redneckness about them - at least from the perspective of some Aussies I've known and read.

Li'l k - I have a step-son in the army as we speak - he was deployed in East Timor, and is a dedicated military fella - nonetheless, he was shocked and horrified by the racism and general horror he has encountered in the military - 'twill be interesting to see how long he lasts - if he ain't killed in Iraq...(she said bitterly...)
