Do you know where that expression likely rooted from?
you have a step-son? hnh.
Sorry to hear he's been on a bad trip with the military. i don't know why anyone would think it'd be less than a horrible experience. Do you think it's worse than the US military?
my oldest is in kuwait in the u.s. army. been there about a month already. didn't want him to enlist in the marine corps, good boy, very bright, but he just doesn't have the mentality for the corps.
I have no idea, 'k - I do not "DO" military!
Craven may be able to enlighten us in a while.
The young man of whom I speak was raised in a highly left wing milieu and inculcated early re racism and feminism and all that (most noteably by his ex-WWII and passionately peace-loving and communist grandfather) - I imagine - despite his having been in the reserves and all that for ages, 'twas not what he expected... I think he idealized the military.
I have not had a chance to sit down with him recently and really talk about all this - but I look forward to it - 'tis soooooooooooooo much easier being a step-mum than a mum!
then, Pueo - 'tis all very too real for you....
yeah, a little. he's in the signal corps, communications specialist. the army protects those guy's pretty good. but his mother is very, very, worried.
and you are not.........? hmmmmmmm?
man.... it's a wonder to me why anyone enlists anymore.
a little of course. you can't count on the pentagon and the bush administration to do what's right. but, in the u.s. military the marines are the pointy tip of the spear the army generally comes in afterwards. i've been in combat, and i know first hand the situations they will encounter. if he listens to my advise, he'll be ok. in any case this iraq situation needs to be finalized.
yes c, amen to that!
littlek, the military has a lot to offer people who don't know what to do right now. the education plan is pretty good too. much better than the g.i. plan i had. in addition, the u.s. is in a great position now to impose their will on the rest of these renegade countries, and imho they should. we (the world) has had enough of these tinstar dictators. put them out to pasture and let's get on with life.
I've never been to Australia either, but I would LOVE to go.
I've been there and I heard the ladies have been in mourning since my departure. but I hear a lot of crazy stuff.
You were a baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, come Gezzy! We will do our best to look after you...
