Neyco, there's a similar kind of eye problem called chalazia (the singular is a chalazion). I've had those. Here's a link that tells the difference between them. My eye did get red sometimes due to the irritation from the lump. The chalazia went away after a few months.

My eye doctor also recommended warm compresses. He also has me washing my eyes daily with a solution of 1 part no-tears baby shampoo and four parts water. That has helped me have fewer eye irritations, and I've had no recurrences of the chalazia since last year.

Hey all , I need some info on Chalazion , I have had one on my left upper eyelid since December last year and hasn't gone down since , the only thing I've tried is the hot compress but that didn't work , can anyone suggest something else that may work ? I am trying to avoid the surgeon's knife , someone please help me ....
