This summer I'm planning on learning both. I know the arabic alphabet, and a bit of vocabulary, and my knowledge of mandarin is...............nihao
. I need websites which have lessons for complete beginners, any help would be greatly appreciated. Since we can't post links please pm me the url / adress of any websites.
Thank You
I don't know links for lessons but there are Chinese and Arabic sections on the
Master Russian forum.
The Arabic will be fun...and difficult.
At the bottom in the Beyond Russian category.
Peace,
It will be great if you learned arabic language and spoke it, it is very strong language, also the arabic literature in some centuries is great.
I will advice you something if you have time, learn the art of the Arabic font, I shall say it is one of the best fonts, but in my opinion it is the best.
Here are some websites to learn Arabic language and hope that they can help :

Thank you very much White-heart
I got the Pimsleur language tapes for both languages. I will star using them this summer.
Arabic and Mandarin, two difficult languages. I am learning Arabic in the university, but the pronunciation is a bit difficult. Mandarin pronunciation is even more difficult because you have to deal with tones. If you really want to learn them, online sites and self-study won't be enough. I can promise you that. The only way is formal study for long periods of time. Arabic may work with Pimsleur and self-study, but to achieve fluency in Mandarin, you really have to study in a class for a long time. If you need help, there will be plenty of people to help you. About a billion...
I would recommend learning Arabic with a good Romanisation system(AlifBa'), then learn the Arabic script. The Arabic script often does not show short vowels, so it would be best if you knew how a word was pronounced in Arabic and then recognising the script for the word.
I would recommend learning Chinese with both a good Romanisation system (Hanyu Pinyin) alongside the characters, because the romanisation system alone won't be enough to communicate effectively, and the Chinese script conveys very little about how to pronounce it.
