What a creative bunch of bluffers we are.

Were you all waiting over your keyboards for the bluffs to be announced?

Taffy picks #11

and # 15 looks good for firsthought.

one question I would ask (in two parts) are we trying to set records on:
1. on the the largest number of people competeing per dasher's word
2. how many words we can get thru in a Month/week/day/hour/minute/sec

Well, I guess I'll go for 14. It's as unlikely as anything else.

FT, there doesn't need to be a competition on the two choices, but I like larger numbers of players because it is more challenging.

Anymore thoughts? For those of you who spend lots of time on a2k, it might seem agonizingly slow. For me, who spends less time and tends to be erratic as to when I visit, this isn't a problem.

Would it make it easier to set a certain number of days for bluffs to be submitted and another set number of days for picks to be posted?

#17.

ft: 3 comments re your questions:
(1) I don't think there is a competition to set records for the number of players. I remember when there were only 10 or so (including the pets) and the game was, I felt, in danger of dying. On the three or four occasions when I have been Dasher I have tried to keep the existing gang, encourage former participants to come back and welcome new folks. Diane got 21 responses-plus the one correct definition. I think that is good.
2) On the speed of the game issue that you raised (I apologize if I offended you), it does go, as Diane put it, "agonizingly slow." It used to take even longer. I don't think there needs to be a prescribed time limit--that should be left to the Dasher--but we could perhaps suggest a norm of, say, 10 days to complete a round.
3) Finally, re the score-keeping. You didn't raise this but here is my observation. Many players don't care how many points they have accumulated. Others do. And that's part of why they play. So it goes.

To y'all: Thank you for reading this. I enjoy playing this silly game and hope that it will continue for a long time. I can't see how many posts there have been since it started back on page 1. Quite a few, I reckon. -john-

I'll have a number 3. Hold the coleslaw, but give me a small Greek Salad with extra feta.

Thanks, rjb, for your post. To me, the more the merrier, so adding a few days in order to allow players the chance to post--adding to the number of bluffs, makes the game that much better. Also, many people don't post over the weekend, so that needs to be taken into consideration.

P&L, hah, hah, hah. That's a thought for the next time I'm dasher.
